Congress party was always synonymous with Reddy caste in Andhra Pradesh and for the people of this caste Congress was like god or their own home which was proved time and again. For some reason, even the Brahmin community has strongly supported the Congress. But after the death of YSR, these equations changed quickly and soon Jagan raised his own bandwagon and with the active revival of T-agitation, the Congress party faced the choice of bifurcating AP and at least retaining one part. In practical terms, this meant that the Reddys of the state have also now been divided with Congress firmly in grip of Telangana Reddys while those in Seemandhra have more or less reconciled to Jagan. Sources say that with AP being divided, the Reddys of this region are now a divided house with their population not crossing 10 percent respectively in each region. Though Rayala Telangana proposal was mooted to keep them united at least in a sense, even this didn't happen!
