The world of smartphones has intense competition running but what we hear may create a revolution. Technology firm Mozilla is all set to bring a smartphone prototype for developing countries, which may be costing as less as $25, i.e. about Rs. 1,500. The company, which runs the Firefox browser, has reportedly partnered with Chinese low-cost chip maker Spreadtrum in this regard. If their prototype goes successful then it is going to hit the big players like Apple and Samsung who have conquered the smartphones market. Mozilla Chief Operating Officer Jay Sullivan has announced that from 2014, the company is planning to differentiate its user experience and its partners are growing the portfolio of devices. The company is expected to launch a whole new category of smartphones priced around $25. That will bring even more people around the world online. Firefox OS devices are the first devices built completely open Web standards, with every feature being developed as an HTML5 application. Mozilla's devices are expected to see stiff competition mainly from Chinese and Taiwanese handset makers as such as Huawei and ZTE.
