This is the right example for the position of the Congress in SA. Nominations have completed for the Municipal elections by the end of Yesterday. Party has no candidates to contest in the elections in SA. In some Municipalities, Independents are more than the Congress official candidates. TDP and YSRCP have neck’n’neck in all Municipalities. This is worst ever situation in 130 years of Congress history.
Congress party position in Ananthapur district which is native of Raghuveera Reddy (APCC President) is very pity. Some of the district leaders were gone to party cadre with own expenses and requested them to file nominations. In Srikakulam Municipality, Congress filed nominations for just 27 wards out of total 91 Wards. There is shortage of 6 members in Ichhapuram, 7 members in Palasa, 3 members in Amudalavalasa and 11 in Palakonda. In Nandhyala, Congress has just 7 out of 362 filed nominations. In Nandikotkur, 3 nominations filed from Congress out of 215.
Out of total 9 Municipalities, Congress has no candidates for half-of the wards in Guntur. It is the first time elections held in Jangareddygudem Municipality. Not even single nomination filed in the Municipality from Congress party for 20 wards. In Eluru Corporation, Congress filed 13 nominations out of 50 in the Corporation. Independents are than Congress in the corporation. Chirala MLA Amanchi Krishna Mohan has field his candidates in separate panel instead of Congress. Giddaluru MLA Rambabu fields his candidates through BSP for the Municipality.
