A 150-crore proposal by the government, propagating Roller Blades as a mode of transport to reduce traffic jams and make commuting easier, is waiting to get it cleared. Elections are just around the corner, and the government is trying to provide a solution to the problems being faced by commuters everywhere. Heavy Traffic in cities has become a perpetual irritant, with a large number of vehicles polluting the air too, constantly.
As per the proposal, the government intends to provide Roller Blades on rent to the public for transport, and even make them available at subsidized rates. There are plans to build tracks and supporting infrastructure all over the country to make Roller Blading easier, from one destination to another. Multiple Roller Blading tracks would be introduced alongside various bus routes and railway lines.
Our source close to the lawmakers commented, “The government is certainly concerned about the traffic situation today. Taking into account that the environmentalists too, are on an overdrive, the government is seriously contemplating giving out roller blades to the public. It’s like killing two birds with one stone. It will also make us healthier.”
Since Roller Blades do not require fuel, the government is using this as an important factor to promote a greener lifestyle in the country. The government is waiting for the final nod.
