Her parents P. Hari Babu and Samrajyam, who were absconding since Sunday, were arrested by the police in Guntur for murdering Pachala Deepthi (25), who had married her colleague against their wishes.The parents, had brought her home from Hyderabad with promise to honour her marriage in the presence of relatives and friends but had deceptively strangled her after tying her to the bed.
The murder came to light after Deepthi's husband A. Kiran Kumar went to their home.Kiran Kumar, who joined a multinational firm in the US last year, and Deepthi decided to marry but the girl's parents opposed the alliance.Deepthi married Kiran at the Arya Samaj office in Hyderabad and her parents came there but next day took them to Guntur assuring to solemnize their marriage in the presence of relatives and friends. While they made Kiran and his friends stay in a hotel they daughter home where the parents together strangled her and fled from scene.
