Khammam district in Telangana is nearby to Krishna and Godavari districts of SA. Telangana Sentiment and agitation in the district is not as much as it can in other North Telangana districts. Non-Telangana people (Krishna and Godavari districts) are more in the district. Their votes are played role for the parties to decide the victory in the elections. TRS fails to get open its account in the district even after it faced two general elections. Party has failed to field its candidates in ongoing local body elections in the district. Kamma community voters have played dominant role in all elections. Most of the winners from this segment (Tammineni, Nama and Renuka) are from kamma Community. Nama Nageswara Rao is again TDP candidate for Khammam in the general elections. CPI(M) has announced its candidate Afroz Sameena for Khammam.
As part of alliance, Congress left the segment to CPI. CPI will announce its candidate very soon. YSRCP is also fielding Ponguleti Srinivasulu Reddy from Khammam. It’s certain for TRS to announce its nominee. Communist parties have their own strength. Can Congress voters have ready to extend their support to CPI?
