The MIM party is a minority party in Andhra Pradesh and have been working for the rights of Muslims. The party has also fights on seat allotments and the denial of giving ticket to the fomer corporator has made him resign. Mohammed Ghouse, the Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) corporator from Shah Ali Banda, resigned from all party posts after he was denied a ticket to contest the Charminar assembly constituency seat. He was a very loyal man to the party, Ghouse was first elected as corporator from Charminar division in 2002 and later Shah Ali Banda in 2009. He also serves as the MIM deputy floor leader in GHMC. He is reportedly a businessman with interests in real estate, clothing and bangle trade in Lad Bazaar. When contacted, Ghouse confirmed that he had tendered his resignation to the party leadership. "I have worked hard for the party for more than 10 years. I am exploring all options and will seek the opinion of my supporters on which party I should join or if I should contest from Charminar Assembly constituency as an independent," he said. The resignation comes a day after MIM supremo Asaduddin Owaisi replaced sitting Karwan legislator Muqtada Khan alias Afsar Khan with the lesser known Kausar Mohiuddin and Nampally MLA Virasat Rasool Khan with former deputy mayor Jafer Hussain Meraj.
