Candidates put forward by the Congress and the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) against each other in some constituencies is reportedly indicating a 'tacit collusion' between the two parties which are publicly ranged against each other. Sources say that KCR is fielding last-minute defectors or some of the weak candidates against the Congress in many constituencies which the latter is reciprocating with equal goodwill. Congress first sent the friendly contest message by shifting Vijayashanti to Medak Assembly seat and not MP seat. Vijayashanti was eager to take on TRS president KCR in Medak as she is the sitting MP and picked up Shravan Kumar Reddy, a novice in politics, to contest against the TRS chief. For Sircilla seat in Karimnagar district, the TRS renominated KT Rama Rao. Meanwhile, the Congress has fielded former DCC president K Ravinder Rao, a Velama, who is seen as no match for KTR. TRS returned the gesture by fielding weak candidates in Nagarjunasagar, Nizamabad (Rural) & Zaheerabad assembly seats against senior Congress leader K Jana Reddy, veteran D Srinivas and J Geeta Reddy.
