The final results of local body polls for Corporation, Municplaities was announced . Telugu Desam Party has come out victorious in 71 Municipalities (both Telangana and Seemandhra). While YSR Congress won 20 Municipalities, Congress and TRS bagged 22 and 11 Municipalities respectively. TDP performed remarkably in Seemandhra and Telangana despite facing a biggest hurdle like bifurcation.
Out of 7 Corporations in Seemandhra, TDP bagged Five (Rajahmundry, Eluru, Vijayawada, Chittoor, Anantapur) and YSR Congress won in Two (Kadapa Corporation, Nellore Corporation) Veering towards Telangana, TRS pocketed Karimnagar Corporation. In Ramagundam and Nizamabad corporation, the decision depends on the support of independents.
The elections for 10 Corporations and 145 Muncipalities were held in undivided state of Andhra Pradesh (Seemandhra + Telangana). While 7 corporations and 92 Municipalities are in fray from Seemandhra, 3 corporations and 53 Municipalities are in Telangana.
