Congress has mentally ready for the worst in general elections in SA after the division of the state. The party has pinned hopes in SA on at least on three Assembly segments on victory. The party has strongly believed on victory in Chipurupalli (Botsa), Guntur (East) Kanna and Atmakur (Anam). But unfortunately, except Botsa in Chipurupalli two other ex-ministers have lost their deposits. Even Anam Ramanarayana Reddy was also strongly disappointed on people verdict. He is the senior politician and contested eight times to the general elections. There are rumors at one time that Congress High Command might replace Anam as CM for the state in place of Kiran Kumar Reddy. Anam is also obedient to the party high command for the promotion at the time of the division. Anam was strongly believed that the development activities in Atmakur can make road for his success again in 2014 general elections. Local body elections just one month before the general elections have created troubles to the Anam. Anam ignores the local body elections and never concentrated in selection of the candidates for Atmakur. Dejected cadre have left the party and joined in TDP and YSRCP in Atmakur Segment. Congress was come up with second in Atmakur Municipality even after the division. Congress cadre strongly believe if Anam has concentrated more on local bodies cadre stay remains with him and his victory also possible. But coming to General elections, Anam lost his deposit in Atmakur Assembly Segment. He pushed to third place and lost to Mekapati son. Neglecting local body elections is the reason for Anam defeat.
