As the appointed day for the formation of the two states, Andhrapradesh and Telangana, the 2nd of June is nearing by, the names of the people for the key posts are coming out one by one. The foremost key position for any state in terms of administration is that of the Chief Secretary to the Government. 1979 batch senior IAS officer from Andhrapradesh cadre, Mr. IYR Krishna Rao is almost finalized now for Andhrapradesh state. Krishna Rao is presently serving as the Chief Commissioner of Land Administration and is now been named as the Chief Secretary designate for the successor State of Andhra Pradesh. This is been almost confirmed as he had accompanied the to be Chief Minister of the state, Nara Chandrababu Naidu to the state Governor E.S.L.Narasimhan at Raj Bhavan on Saturday. Formal orders of his appointment are expected to be issued by the Union Government in a couple of days. Krishna Rao is a post graduate in Economics and had previously held key posts in Revenue, Finance, Industries, Agriculture and has also served as Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanam Board Executive Officer. He was supposed to become the last Chief Secretary of united Andhra Pradesh, but as the then Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy had preferred P.K. Mohanty who was away on Central deputation to be at the helm has lost that opportunity. IYR Krishna Rao would now be the first chief secretary of the newly forming state of Andhrapradesh. Krishna Rao had earlier served as the Collector of Nalgonda and Khammam for the period 1987 to 1989. Most of the key posts held by Krishna Rao if observed carefully were during the ruling of Telugudesam Government and now the biggest post also comes to him again in the same rule.
