Today all newspapers and tv channels are heaping praises on Modi and his NDA government for their bold decision to set up a Special Investigation Team comprising of some eminent persons and some famous newspapers even wrote editorials praising Modi for fulfilling his poll promise. But the truth is different. The Supreme Court was hearing few PILs on the disinterest and inaction from the central government in recovering black money and the notable PIL was from ram jethmalani which was taken very seriously by the apex court. the court was produced documentary evidence from a swiss bank which asked the Indian government whether they wish to get details of the accountholders in their bank because USA and few other countries asked and got that info. Instead of our government investigating, when the swiss bank itself came to the central government, it refused to take any information and did not respond to their request. The Supreme Court bench viewed this seriously and given a notice few months ago that if it has no will to get this money back, then the supreme court itself would constitute a SIT (Special Investigation Team) to get the Indian black money back from swiss banks. To this, the then corrupt congress government, instead of initiating any action, went on warpath with the apex court saying that this is a matter of bureaucracy or legislature and the judiciary has no role or power to do so. despite telling such rhetoric, the corrupt congress did not set up any SIT and the BJP too did not raise this issue at all and did not ask the congress to set up a SIT then. Seeing no action from government till last week, the apex court became serious and directed the central government to set up a SIT within one week or it would take action. So, what the NDA government yesterday decided to set up a SIT was reactionary or responsive in nature to the supreme court notice and not a policy decision by the NDA goverment. but the NDA media managers are bragging as if they implemented their poll promise or bringing back black money instead of honestly admitting that they obeyed the supreme court orders unlike the corrupt congress government.
