BJP’s current Telangana chief Kishan Reddy was once the most trusted lieutenant of BJP’s senior leader and the current union minister Venkaiah Naidu. He was also considered the main force for the BJP in the state of Andhra Pradesh. It is heard that Kishan’s closeness with Venkaiah Naidu plus his own hard work brought him to the current prime position he enjoys in TG by surpassing the old BJP guard like Baddam Bal Reddy, Lakshman and others. But the trouble started with Venkaiah’s alleged apathy towards AP bifurcation and also his force in pushing for an alliance with TDP in Telangana inspite of local cadre’s objections. There was also some negativity with Kishan demanding larger seats from TDP during 2014 polls. Now with Venkaiah arriving in Hyderabad for first time after becoming union minister in current NDA regime, Kishan was conspicuous by his absence while all other leaders turned up. Although BJP sources say Kishan skipped Naidu’s arrival due to personal work in Bangalore, there is definitely no smoke without fire!
