Telangana Rashtra Samithi is succeeded in the fight for the formation of separate Telangana state under the uncompromising leadership of Kalvakuntla Chandrasekhar Rao. From the day KCR is started his political party TRS, with a single point agenda of separate Telangana state, one major strength both for the party and the leader KCR himself is undoubtedly Harish Rao Thanneeru.
Harish Rao is the nephew of KCR, son of his sister. Harish was born on 3rd June 1972 in Siddipet. He is completed his Bachelor of Arts at Siddipet. After completion of his education, he turned into politics influenced by none other than his uncle-in-law, Chandrasekhar Rao. His entry as an MLA was from the Siddipet constituency in 2004, after the seat was vacated by KCR.
KCR was then elected both from the Siddipet Assembly and Karimnagar Parliament after quitting out from Telugudesam and forming his own platform of TRS. Harish Rao stood as one of the most intensely accepted leader by people by winning with majorities of 58935, 64014, 95858 and 93334 votes in 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2014 elections respectively. His majority of 2010 bi-elections is a record till date.
Harish has served as Minister of state for Youth services, printing and stationary department in YSR’s first cabinet. Now, Harish is sworn in as a Minister in the first ever cabinet of independent Telangana state under the leadership of first Telangana Chief Minister KCR. He would for sure be a Key leader for the party with his style and approach of dynamism and capable leadership. He is expected to be given the water resources and electricity portfolios, which are crucial in the state.
