There are rare moments when some of our politicians capture the limelight at national level and recently one such instance happened which is making news. Recently PM Narendra Modi addressed joint session of Parliament. This is as part of thanksgiving motion to president’ s address and Modi used this occasion to hint at proper behavior on part of parliamentarians. He also urged that MP’s should approach Supreme court to fast track their cases. And he also assured that a separate court would be set up to wrap up cases against MPs. On this occasion, our senior Congress leader V Hanumantha Rao reportedly stood up and appealed to Modi about an issue which took many by surprise. He reportedly said that while those who are taking bribes of even Rs. 2 lakhs are being jailed, many of the MP’s sitting here have cheated banks for thousands of crores and still they go about their business without any fear of arrest and refuse to return loans they took from banks. Modi reportedly thanked him and took his suggestion into serious consideration!
