Looking at the official reaction to the Beas tragedy in Himachal, which consumed the lives of 24 engineer students from Hyderabad, sources say that local people of that state are reportedly stunned. This is not about the incident but something else.
People accidentally dying in Beas river is common and recently there was an instance of an MLA of that state getting washed away along with his car and he is yet to be traced. But the point of surprise for the people is the power of the Telugu people.
The people of Himachal Pradesh were reportedly amazed to see how not just Andhra Pradesh and Telangana ministers and officials but even central ministers are supervising the operation by visiting personally.
This is coupled with efforts of hundreds of divers, personnel from paramilitary, NDRF, Army and Navy. The local people are reportedly telling Telugu media that they have never seen such an effective response and seriousness and exclaimed that Telugu people seem to be having excellent influence everywhere!
