With Andhra Pradesh looking all set to build its new capital city near Vijayawada, sources say that government has instructed officials to look for land where a brand new All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) is to come up.
Though there is strong lobbying going on for the new AIIMS at Visakhapatnam, sources say that AP Chandrababu Naidu directed the HRD minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao for establishing medical sciences institute in Vijayawada which should serve people from all places in AP.
Vijayawada is considered owing to its central location and accessibility to people of all the 13 districts of AP. At the same time protests are growing that name a project, CBN wants to take it to Krishna district.
There are expectations that if it comes in Rayalaseema then it may give a boost to healthcare and also can be an addition for this region while there is also growing criticism that Babu is repeating the same mistake he did with Hyderabad, of granting all key projects to one area.
