It’s not great victory for TRS in Municipality elections in Telangana. TRS bagged 23 Municipalities out of total 51 in Telangana. Congress comes very close to ruling TRS and won 20 Municipalities and made his mark. There is no surprise on TRS victory and their Municipalities. The only thing is that TRS fails to bag some municipalities even after it had won Assembly segments.
TRS is in upbeat mood after the party won Legislative Council Chairman. But TRS sitting MLAs failed to produce enough results in the election of Municipalities. Congress had captured many municipalities though there are TRS MLAs in their segments. TRS won both Sanga reddy and Andhol Assembly Segments but both these Municipalities lost to Congress. Shabbir Ali did a lot and won the Kamareddy Municipality in the name of Congress. Gampa Govardhan is the TRS sitting MLA in Kamareddy.
BJP and TDP alliance won Vemulawada Municipality though TRS Candidate was elected from this Segment to the Assembly. DK Aruna simple outplayed TRS in Mahabubnagar local body elections. Congress has won 5 Municipalities out of the total 8 in the district. TRS lost both Shadnagar and Nagar Kurnool even though party has MLAs.
