Narasimhan, the governor of two states of AP and Telangana will reportedly get complete control over policing in the common capital of Hyderabad for 10 years. The Union home ministry has reportedly sent a circular to AP and Telangana governments on this. They are reportedly keen on the governor having more control over law and order in the city. In a circular, the home ministry has reportedly sought their opinion on amendments to Section 8 of the AP State Reorganization Act 2014. This entrusts the governor the power to review the decisions of the Telangana state cabinet regarding law and order in Hyderabad. It also calls for creation of common body headed by the governor and comprising representatives of both AP & TS governments for transfers of police officials. While the circular has shocked chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao who reportedly asked his MPs to stall the proceedings in Parliament today, AP CM N Chandrababu Naidu has reportedly written to the Centre seeking even more authorities to the governor.
