AP CM Chandrababu Naidu seems to have eventually managed to complete one month as his tenure as chief minister with a bang. He has reportedly clinched three major programs in his favour which also reportedly includes a green signal from RBI governor Raghuram Rajan regarding rescheduling of crop loans, procuring an additional 300 MW of power from NTPC and sanctioning of an additional 400 seats for the AP medical colleges. The AP government yesterday reportedly instructed all bankers to provide bank-wise, district-wise and also category-wise loan details which can help in calculating the burden of the loan rescheduling on the state. Naidu is expecting the burden to be around Rs 30,000 to 50,000 crore and hence they may go ahead with the rescheduling of the loans spread over a period of 3 to 7 years depending on AP’s repayment capacity. NTPC chairman Anup Roy Choudhury reportedly assured to give additional 300 MW from its plants located at Jaj jar and Barh stations and also consented to establish a 300 MW solar park in Guntur district by means of competitive bidding so that AP can avail of solar energy at the lowest tariff. NTPC also reportedly agreed for railway sliding thereby allowing Hinduja power plant at Visakhapatnam for allocating four rakes to their coal yards and commission its 1,040 MW plant as soon as possible.
