It is known news that the Cuddapah district has been christened as YSR Cuddapah district few years back and forms a core location between South Andhra and Rayalaseema. This is more like the small kingdom of the late Y S Rajasekhar Reddy and now his son Y S Jagan.
It is an undeniable fact that this district is a bastion of YSR family, the legacy of which now rests with Jagan Mohan Reddy. At the same time, the Andhra CM Chandrababu Naidu has a responsibility to develop all regions of AP owing to his past mistakes.
But while Naidu has been focusing in every district, except for a proposed Steel plant and Uranium mining, there has been no mention of any growth plans for this district. In fact the district’s north region bordering Prakasam can also be chosen as a capital.
Some of the analysts say that Naidu may be trying to sideline this district due to known political reasons, others feel that how YSR conquered Naidu’s home turf of Chittoor district even Naidu can do the same with Cuddapah with aggressive development, but as of now there seem to be no clue about development of this strategic district.
