Well for a budget deficit state, having as many check posts on border is a good source of funds for its revenue and excise departments. Now, news is arriving that the Andhra Pradesh government all set to open eight border check posts between the state and Telangana. This is going to take place during next 10-15 days and sources say that AP is eyeing a good revenue boost from high exchange of goods between the regions. This also includes deployment of vigilance squads for checking the diversion of trade and pilferage of taxes. Minister for Finance Yanamala Ramakrishnudu already announced that these check posts are useful for assessing the quantum and value of commodities that pass between the states, from which more commercial tax revenue would be generated. These temporary check posts are all set to open near Kurnool, Sunnipenta, Macherla, Dachepalli, Garikapadu, Thiruvur, Jeedugumalli and Kondapalli. At the same the state is not even leaving minor roads linking the two states which would be manned by squads as well as the vigilance wings of the Commercial Tax department.
