The Central government has reportedly said that it was watching the situation that arises out of`Intensive Household Survey' which has been undertaken by the Telangana government, criticized by the opposition as an exercise to single out the people of Seemandhra origin. Home ministry officials reportedly said that they are seized of the matter mentioning that appropriate intervention will be done by Union home ministry at an appropriate time, if there is need. These comments were made when media asked if the Centre has approved of Telangana government's survey covering around close to four crore households in the newly formed state. Even the practical purpose of this survey is being questioned by few groups. The Centre also reportedly expressed hope that good sense prevails and Telangana government will not do anything, which would create tensions. There are mixed reactions about the survey.
