Well, except for the BSP leader Mayawati in Uttar Pradesh who ventured with such unique idea, not many states are known for allocating budget sums to Brahmin community. Of course, the Uttar Pradesh vote bank is dominated mainly by the Brahmins so that is inevitable. Now it has become the turn of Chandrababu-ruled Andhra Pradesh, where for the first time ever, a sum of Rs.25 crores has reportedly been earmarked for the community which is neither upper middle class to be rich nor lower class to receive doles and benefits. Sources say that with Muslims sailing in a big way with YSRCP which already has a recognition as a Christian party, Naidu is reportedly trying to consolidate the Hindu vote bank which voted for TDP in 2014 polls, also motivated by Modi factor. However, the Brahmins of Andhra Pradesh are reportedly enjoying their new limelight though the amount is small. They feel this should be the start of their recognition in political spectrum, after a long wait.
