Vijayawada turned to become centre for the development of 13 districts of AP before the state government announced its capital. Roads and Infrastructure development is certain to cater the needs of people in the city. Bundar Road and Eluru Road are two major roads in the city. The extension of Eluru road had completed but Bundar Road extension is still in pending since last 10 years.
Migration of the people and officials to the Vijayawada has increased soon after the announcement of the new capital in Vijayawada. As per the sources, around 40K families will come to Vijayawada to live in next 5 years. Population will increase if any IT companies formed in and around the city. Vehicle registrations have increased in the City. 11K two wheels and 2K four wheels have registered from June to September in 2014. In 2013, for the same period 5K two wheel vehicles and 1K four wheel vehicles registered.
Ministers and VIPs have regularly passing through the City. It’s essential to built Flyovers and Metro to control the traffic in the city. Metro Sreedharan was recently visited the city and will built 26 Kms of Metro to complete within next four years. There are many demands to built flyovers in the city. Flyover at Durga Temple, Flyover from Eluru Road to Ajit Singh Nagar and Kanuru to Prakasam Barrage is another flyover to construct.
