With the L&T Hyderabad Metro Rail Project all but taken over by the Centre, sources say that finally works on the Hyderabad Metro Rail project is picking up pace with the central government reportedly monitoring the progress. The Additional secretary in Union cabinet secretariat, Anil Swaroop landed in Hyderabad where he met Telangana chief secretary Rajiv Sharma at the Secretariat for reviewing the project. Sources said the main objective the meeting was to discuss measures for expediting the works and processes and to ensure that the first stage between Nagole and Mettuguda would be commissioned as planned earlier in March next year. Sources say that once the project was notified under the Metro Rail Act, a major legal procedure was indeed cleared. At the same time there are reports that there would be no change in metro rail alignments whatsoever across Assembly and Mozamjahi market as pressurized by TRS ruling government and also by MIM to make route changes from Darul Shifa to Falaknuma.
