AP Government seeks to promote tourism sector in the state after the division of the state. AP wants to utilize 960 km sea coast to the full extent for tourism. AP introduced “Amphibious Planes” in Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam in this regard. An Amphibious aircraft that can take off and land on both land and water. Countries having sea coast and island have introduced these aircrafts for the development of tourism. AP Tourism and Development Corporation (APTDC) comes to an agreement with MayFair Company to develop tourism in the state. This project will handle on basis of Public Private Partnership (PPP) and expected to spend 50 crores for the completion of the project. As per this agreement, Mayfair will provide two aircrafts to Vijayawada and Vizag each. 9 seater aircraft will land in Bhavani Dweepam in Krishna River and in RK beach in Vizag. Mayfair identified two routes in its journey. Starting from Vijayawada, aircraft travels Srisailam and Nagarjuna Sagar as one route. From Vizag to Tadipudi Reservoir as another route Mayfair identified for its services. AP is the third project for Mayfair. It already runs in Andaman and Nicobar islands and in Maharashtra.
