Andhra Pradesh Gas Distribution Corporation (APGDC), French company GDF Suez, British company Shell and GAIL have signed on two separate MoUs for floating LNG Terminal in Kakinada. The proposed terminal will use high-end technology and will be one of the first of its kind in India. Natural Gas transfer through pipelines that are constructed under sea water for this project. After this terminal, there will no more gas issues to Andhra Pradesh. Gas will supplied to all related projects and it also considers as raw-material to other companies. 2K MW of electricity will be produced from Kakinada LNG Terminal. AP Government would receive revenue of 1700 crores through taxes and generates employment for 2000 people. People in the state will get Natural Gas with cheaper rates. Chief Minister Chandra Babu said that he committed to complete the project with 18 months. He also said that Kakinada LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) is the key for the development of the state. APDGC has planned to construct 301 KM pipe line from Kakinada to Srikakulam and from Vijayawada to Nellore. By this APDGC will cover all 13 districts in the state.
