Well, the Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has made many electoral promises during the 'yaatras' and find it difficult to implement them. However, he has even taken a back step on few of them keeping in mind the budget that would matter.

The deficit power being a biggest trouble to Telangana and the people and investors who are unhappy with it will now be pleased to know the news. The Chief Minister of Telangana seems to make another BIG promise to Telangana stating that by the end of 2018, the Telangana State would grow as a surplus power state

During a meeting with the Power Minister G Jagadish Reddy and officials at Secretariat, KCR gave a serious call to take steps to make Telangana State grow as a surplus power state. It seems KCR has decided to allot Rs 1000 crores for the next budget season exclusively for production of power. He also asked his official to get ready to sign a MoU with Chattisgarh as part of an earlier decision.

KCR promised that Telangana will produce 8500 MW by 2016 and provide power to the Rabi crop. He also directed the officials to explore the possibilities of production of 24,000 MW including 21,350 thermal power by 2018. So, what do you think? Is it possible? Will KCR stand by his promise of making TS a surplus power state?
