February 15th is the deadline for CRDA to procure land from the farmers in Capital region. CRDA was collected 16,700 acres of land and still need to procure another 18K acres from the farmers. The newly created Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) has finished 50% of its task. Since last two days CRDA was slow down in its process. CRDA planned to procure 1000-1500 acres per day but it can’t exceed more than 500 acres.

Now to complete the task, CRDA has to procure 2500 acres per day in next coming days. It will be doubtful that CRDA would complete its process in some villages where farmers unwilling to give their lands. It’s the question whether Government would extend the deadline or will it proceed for land acquisition.

CRDA Commissioner Srikanth was conducted review on land pooling in Tullur. Farmers in some villages hurried to give their lands because of the completion of deadline. Some farmers requested the Government to extend the deadline to February 14th. Farmers are confident that Government will extend deadline for second time.

On the other hand, AP Government moved one step ahead in construction of the capital. Government will send some concept paper designs to the Union Government on new capital. Foundation stone will be laid on 2nd week of June for the construction of the capital which will 12 KMs distance to Vijayawada and 20 KMs distance to Guntur.
