Godavari Pushkarams will start from July 14th to 25th in this year. Both AP and Telangana have involved in preparations and development across the river Godavari. Both Chief Ministers have their own sentiments and vaastu opinions in their life. Telangana Chief Minister KCR requested the NDA Government for 700 crores for Pushkarams.

He has a plan to conduct Godavari Pushkarams in a grand scale similarly as Kumbh Mela. Both President and Prime Minister are invited for the occasion. On the other hand, AP Chief Minister CBN also released funds for the development of temples and Ghats across the Godavari River in the state. CBN got good name and fame in conducting Godavari Pushkarams in 2003 when he was Chief Minister.

But political history was not conducive to both Chief Ministers. Chief Ministers who were participated earlier in Godavari Pushkarams have lost their power within one year. After 2003 Pushkarams, CBN lost the mandate in 2004 General elections. After participating in Pushkarams in 1991, late Chief Minister N. Janardhan Reddy lost the CM position to Kotla Vijay Bhashkar Reddy.

Marri Chenna Reddy too lost CM position in 1980 after he was participated in Godavari Pushkarams in 1979. Kasu Brahmananda Reddy also lost his power in 1968 after participating in Godavari Pushkarams as CM of AP in 1967. Sentimental Telugu Chief Ministers have recognized the history or will dare to participate in Godavari Pushkarams.
