The drastic consequence of forced bifurcation still continues for Congress. The drubbing which the Andhra Pradesh Congress received during general elections doesn’t seem to be enough and now by losing the deposit in Tirupathi bypoll, Congress finds itself in dire straits.

It is clear that the people of AP hold Congress mainly responsible for the ‘unscientific’ division of the state which has put AP in financial quandary and mess. Now as if the deeds are not enough, Congress AP in charge Digvijay Singh and PCC chief Raghuveera Reddy have come up with something.

They have called for a missed call campaign to garner more support for special status for AP. Any move to pressurize Centre in granting special status is welcome, but when they could do everything while in power but neglected, what is now the use with the so-called missed call campaign at a time when Congress lost all credibility.

To a large extent, the bifurcation has resulted in nothing but loss and damage to both sides of the Telugu states and its people. With Centre not showing the same enthusiasm like before, it has to be seen how the future is going to be.
