Farmers of riverbank villages in the proposed state capital have determined to pull their fight to Delhi in an attempt to mobilize national support. The farmers will take the assistance of social activist Anna Hazare.
They will also conduct protest in Delhi against the amendments to the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013. The capital area farmers will leave for Delhi on February 21 to take part in the two-day protest scheduled by Anna Hazare at Jantar Mantar. The agitation is planned for February 23.
Number of farmers has asked for Anna Hazare's support as the amended Act is possibly to be invoked by AP government to construct the capital city after obtaining agricultural land from them.
Sources said farmers will meet on February 19 to chalk out their proposed program of action in New Delhi. A farmer said several farmers have showed their eagerness to take part in the `Chalo Delhi' agitation and meet Anna Hazare.
