AP Government is in thought of providing Train facility from Rayalaseema to Capital of AP. State Government is willing to bear 50% of expenses for the Double line works between Guntur and Dhone. UPA had announced Double Railway Line in 2010-11 Railway budget between Guntur to Gunthakal via Dhone.
SCR was completed the survey on this route. But UPA neglected to allocate the funds for the project in every Railway budget. The importance of this project is again in news after announcing the new capital between Guntur and Vijayawada. New railway project would provide convenience to the passengers to travel from Rayalaseema to New capital of AP.
Chief Secretary IYR Krishna Rao has met SCR officials and made approval to bear 50% of the expenditure on this project. SCR officials expect that around 1500 crores of expenditure for the completion of this project. Distance between Guntur to Gunthakal is around 300 KMs. They expect 4 crores per KM for doing double line works.
There are many benefits with this new Double Railway line. NDA will make an announcement of releasing the funds to this project in coming railway budget. New trains will come in this route, traffic will be reduced and goods transportation increased.
