The 14th Finance Commission Report was presented to the parliament today by the Finance Minister, Arun Jaitley and the Prime Minister Narendra Modi accepted to follow the report. The report favoured Andhra Pradesh a bit and recommended it to be given 2.42 Lakh Crore in the next five years,

The Planning Commission has given 13000 Crore to AP till the last fiscal. The 14th Finance Commission asked the government to give AP 30000 Crore in the form of funds and grants every year for the next 5 years. This will mean that the state should be getting One Lakh Fifty Thousands Crores from the center in the next five years.

The Finance Commission had taken in to the after effects of state bifurcation in to account while making these recommendations. It also suggest to give 80000 Crore for the capital construction in the next four years and 5000 Crore this year which makes the total of 85000 Crore for the capital construction alone.

The commission also urged the center to give a one time award of 7000 Crore to the state to battling bifurcation woes. So the total Center's help recommended is to the tune of 2.42 Lakh Crore. We will have to see how much the center allots out of these recommendations provided they accepted the report.
