A day after criticizing the Union Budget, the Telugu Desam Party, which has two central ministers, warned to leave the Union cabinet if its demands of modifying the `anti-poor' Budget are not fulfilled.

TDP leaders told their party president and AP chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu would reach out to fellow coalition associates, involving the Shiromani Akali Dal and Shiv Sena, who also are reportedly upset over the policies declared in the Budget and for not being involved in the decisionmaking procedures.

The TDP signaled at demanding a coordination committee of the coalition partners of NDA to have a say in policy issues, same to the days during the Vajpayee regime when Naidu's party had considerable power at the Centre.

“We know the BJP does not need our support as it has a majority to run the government on its own. But there is something called the coalition dharma, and the senior partner must follow it,“ said senior TDP leader Muddukrishnama Naidu. He continued that Chandrababu Naidu would soon contact all the coalition partners, apart from calling on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union ministers, including finance minister Arun Jaitley and home minister Rajnath Singh.
