When Leslee Udwin, made documentary 'India's Daughter', highlighting the Indian male mentality even in the aftermath of brutal rape of Nirbhaya on 16th Dec 2012, Indian Govt banned the film atonce blaming the filmmaker for insulting Indian women.

Even after Leslee Udwin claimed that she only planned to show how honourable MPs behaved when many people braved cold and rain to protest in Delhi, Governnment authorities faulted the filmmaker for the graphical description of rape by the convict Mukesh Singh.

Now many are questioning "How can Indians who insult women can claim international respect?", in the aftermath of best parliamentarian recipient, Sharad Yadav made sexist remarks saying "The women of the south are dark but they are as beautiful as their bodies...We don't see it here. They know dance."

Citizens were shocked when many MPs shouted down DMK MP Kanimozhi and after few days Sharad Yadav stunned by commenting " I know what you are" when HRD Minister Smithi Irani requested him to desist from his comments. He didnot leave minister Nirmala Seetharaman. Even on TV shows JD U member Ajay Alok made the same comment towards Shazia Imli of BJP. When this is the arrogant attitude of male law makers of India, how can criminals show respect to women. Already they are emboldened by statements of SP chief Mulayam Singh who said "rape accused should not be hanged. Men make mistakes... Handing death sentence for rape is not fair... boys make mistakes... there will be changes in the law if we come to power . Efforts will be made to change such a law so that those misusing it are punished. Those filing false reports will also be taken to task. When their friendship ends, the girl complains she has been raped." and Abu Azmi who said "Rape is punishable by hanging in Islam. But here, nothing happens to women, only to men. Even the woman is guilty. In India, if you have sex with a person with consent, it's fine. But if that same person complains, it's a problem. Nowadays, we see a lot of such cases. Girls complain when someone touches them, and even when someone doesn't touch them. It becomes a problem then, and the man's honour is ruined in this. If rape happens with or without consent, it should be punished as prescribed in Islam.". These are the same MPs who stalled women's reservation bill making derogatory comments on females. Everyone knows women always undergo, experience and pass through lewd comments at public places, busstops, office, functions and other places. Unless until this attitude changes males start respecting women, international community will not respect.
