On Friday, Supreme Court had struck down the petition requesting to stall Andhra Pradesh capital construction. A person named Srimannarayana from Vijayawada filed the Public Interest Litigation (PIL) complaining that it is a violation of Human Rights to establish capital in Multi Crop lands i.e., Thullur.

However Supreme Court refused to interfere in the issue saying that it can not dictate the location of the capital. The apex court also opined there will be certainly some merits and demerits when a city is being constructed and there is nothing one can do about it. The court also opined that environmental permissions will not be applicable for construction of a city like in the case of a building.

The judge also told that no government will proceed with a city construction with out considering all the implications of future. The complainant is not satisfied with the ruling and announced that he will go to Green Tribunal appealing against the capital. This judgement will prove to be a shot in the arm of Andhra Pradesh government to go unfazed with its plans.

On the other side, Andhra Pradesh government is distributing the promised compensation for the first year to the farmers who have given their lands in the land pooling. There is a target of pooling 33811 acres of land from farmers in the ongoing land pooling and the government had managed to pool in more than 32000 acres.
