After the bifurcation of the united Andhra Pradesh, the report of the Railway Committee reveals that the income to the railways have been drowned a lot. It seems post bifurcation, the number of passengers have gone down especially to the Hyderabad and Secunderabad stations. At the end of 2014, there was a difference of 60-70lakhs of passengers which inturn affected the income.

People are preferring to travel

After the state governments were formed, the road transportation has set to normalcy while the railways revenue had been hit quite hard. Even the quick vehicle loans have added to the fire. People are preferring to travel by two wheeler or by car rather than those long train journeys.

One of the railway committee member said "The railwayshas lost around 1.3 million passengers in the last concluded fiscal year." So, what do you think the railway department will be doing?
