Lagadapati Rajagopal was fight against the division of the state with Congress High Command but failed to get success in his attempt. Leaders from all political parties in Telangana were against to Lagadapati’s attitude. TRS in particular targets Lagadapati’s attitude of his anti Telangana issue. Lagadapati is silent in 2014 general elections and keeps concentrating his own business in Gurgaon.
LANCO is willing to sell power to Telangana Government
Now Telangana Government seeks to buy 353 MW Power from Lagadapati’s LANCO Power project. As per buzz, LANCO is willing to sell power to Telangana Government. LANCO has participated in recent e-bidding auction to supply gas on subsidy which was conducted by Central Government. LANCO gets permission to produce 353 MW power from two of its plants in Konadapalli.
AP Government doesn’t like to buy power from LANCO project
But LANCO don’t have any PPAs and Discom agreements to sell power. It can’t sell power to any state other than AP and Telangana states. But AP Government doesn’t like to buy power from LANCO project. That forced LANCO to look after Telangana state. Telangana Government also wants more power to meet requirements in summer season. Government wants to buy power from LANCO with subsidized price @4.70 per unit. Telangana Government is ready to lose income through VAT for buying power from LANCO which produced in AP.
