The sudden relieving of engineers in Kothagudem Thermal Power Station

based on non-local criteria has reportedly sent alarm bells to all the employees working in various other organisations like Singareni Colleries Company Limited in Khammam district.

Although Genco rules would not apply for Singareni since it has now units in Andhra Pradesh, the employees here who are of AP origin are reportedly worried over the tough stand taken by CM K. Chandrasekhar Rao when it comes to sending AP employees to their home state.

Sources say that KTPS has recently issued relieving orders to more than 468 employees including 230 engineers, who all belonged to AP. These engineers were instructed report to APGenco which also included superintending engineers, deputy executive engineers, assistant deputy engineers and assistant engineers.

They were reportedly relieved on the basis of Kamalanathan Committee’s recommendations. KTPS engineers with birth certificates from Andhra Pradesh, were in full shock after the Telangana government issued relieving orders. Although the court had stayed the order, they need to be heading to AP at any time.
