Japanese electronics giant Sony will be arriving soon in India. The products for the company would be contract-manufactured at the Taiwanese maker Foxconn's under construction facility in Andhra Pradesh's well known Sri City. Sony is reportedly in favour of locally-manufactured products in India, with the government offering incentives for companies which produce locally.

Sony is reportedly not planning for any manufacturing

Hence Sony is reportedly not planning for any manufacturing on its own currently and hence it would be manufacturing its products at Foxconn's factory. Foxconn is all set to be opening up a series of units in India where it would manufacture products for a host of companies.

Xiaomi and Apple

In Andhra Pradesh, the company has reportedly zeroed in on Sri City for its commercial operations and hence even Sony's products will also be made. Foxconn would also be making products for other companies also like Xiaomi and Apple.

The benefits which India gives for local manufacturing has in a way pushed this decision of the company as bigger rivals like Samsung, LG and many other mobile phone companies have already been assembling in India. There is all around support for the industrial development of the Telugu speaking states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
