Devender Goud, a senior BC leader in Telangana wields an enormous clout among the backward classes in Telangana. He was one of those leaders from the region who credit their political career and fame to NTR, the founder of Telugu Desam party. He is a senior leader of TDP.

Currently he is a Rajya Sabha MP. He made a brief exit from TDP in 2008 with dreams of upstaging KCR who was the lone champion of Telangana struggle. He formed Nava Telangana Praja Party. KCR and Babu joined hands in 2009 to weaken him and he also failed to become an MLA.

Chiru merging with Congress

Later he merged his party with Chiru’s PRP and after Chiru merging with Congress, Goud returned to TDP and was gifted by RS nomination by Babu. His son Verender was given an MP ticket but both he and Sabitha Indra Reddy’s son lost to Konda Vishveshwar Reddy for Chevella LS seat.

Devender Goud has started writing open letters to KCR

Recently Devender Goud has started writing open letters to KCR and in one of the letters he suggested CM KCR to quickly start creating new districts and also added that when he was a home minister (under Babu) he started the same process but he couldn’t move ahead (indirect reference to Babu). The latest talk is that he may be packing bags to quit TDP and join TRS for the future of his son.
