AP Government has decided to shift some of the Head of the Departments (HoD) to AP. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu seeks to govern AP by staying 5 days in a week from Vijayawada. Babu came to know it will become loss to TDP if he doesn’t rule the administration from home state. Government formed under the head of KS Jawahar Committee in preparing the blueprint for shifting employees to AP.
The committee would submit its report within few days to Chief Secretary IYR Krishna Rao. As per the sources from the report, 22,000 staffers from various departments are shifted from Hyderabad to Vijayawada in coming next 2 months. If this news comes true, on average 66,000 employees including their family members should leave Hyderabad. Reportedly, Committee estimated around 30 lakh square feet of office space needed in Vijayawada and Guntur cities.
Government identified only 5 lakh Square Feet currently in its possession for the employees. It will be hectic for AP Government to provide temporary space for shifting. As per the reports, more and more “To-let” boards can visible in Hyderabad in different places in next 2 months. Telangana Government might lose nearly 1,000 crores of revenue either directly or indirectly after their shifting to AP.
