The concept of Padayatra was initiated by the late Y S Rajasekhar Reddy and it brought him an overwhelming response. Many political experts say it is due to the Padayatra YSR was able to connect with the masses in a big way. Now the same formula has been adopted by Chandrababu Naidu.
His ‘Vastunna…Mee Kosam’ has been progressing briskly and the response is also very good. But one question still remains, has it achieved the objective. Ideally, Padayatra should result in induction of fresh cadre and senior politicians from other parties joining the party. So, is that happening for TDP?
The party is at a crucial juncture right now and they need all the strength they can to enter in full force when the 2014 elections come. With congress taking severe battering due to scams and scandals, this is the right chance for Chandrababu Naidu to regain the power. That part will be answered only if his Padayatra’s objective is answered.
