Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) which is known for its achievements in space once again by launching Geostationary Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV-D6) placing GSAT-6 in its orbit. 

ISRO second success by launching GSLV


Sriharikota witnessed the grand spectacle when ISRO placed 2117kg GSAT communication satellite in the orbit. ISRO thus tasted second success by launching GSLV with indigenous cryogenic engine. 


GSAT 6 has life of six 9 years and this will be used for defence and military purposes. At 4.52 PM today,GSLV D6 which carried GSAT 6 lifted skywards from Sriharikota space station. 


ISRO after tasting first failure in GSLV launches quickly shrugged if off by successfully launching two GSLVs on April 15,2015 and today on 29th Aug,2015. Congratulatory messages are pouring in from all quarters with PM Modi showering ISRO team with praises.
