At a time when the TDP government in Andhra Pradesh has been facing a dearth of  vacant land for many commercial activities, this is definitely some news. Sources say that AP Chief Minister and TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu is reportedly eyeing the lucrative properties of the controversial Agri Gold group.

Agri Gold group to dispose

This group has been in news of late as it had duped thousands of investors in terms of their deposits worth more than Rs 6,800 crore. TDP leadership as well as local leaders of the party in Guntur and Vijayawada are reportedly pressuring Agri Gold group to dispose all those assets and leave the land by repaying the depositors.

This is being managed even as Agri Gold management informed High Court recently that it would be taking up auction of  all its properties by its own, Naidu is of the view that the entire auction should be done by AP government itself. The agenda being suspected is that the prime properties might be acquired at a cheaper rate.

Babu seems to be particularly eyeing Agri Gold’s highly publicized theme park and resort – Haailand, which is located near Vijayawada. This amusement park, located on  a sprawling 40 acres of land has seen it value rise sharply, in addition to other valuable assets which is located between Vijayawada and Guntur.
