Congress and YSR Congress always criticized that Chandra Babu Naidu is Anti-Farmer. Babu is against to the agriculture cultivation and prefers farmers to convert towards Information and Technology. CBN seeks to eradicate the bad name (Anti-Farmer) on him. He is listed out the priorities of the completion of the irrigation projects after taking the charge as Chief Minister in 2014. He tends to sleep at Projects for speedy completion and conducting regular review meetings with irrigation officials.
Importance of Polavaram increased after the division of the state. Union Government has been accorded Polavaram as National Project. It took time to complete the project. Babu is thinking differently and constructing Right Canal (as part of Polavaram) and plans to lift the Godavari water through Pattiseema. Godavari water merged into Krishna water through Pattiseema and caters the needs of the farmers in Krishna and Guntur districts. Babu is also seeing political benefits through Pattiseema.
Thotapalli is another project that was completed and will dedicated on September 10th. 1.35 lac acres in Vizianagram and Srikakulam are getting benefitted through Thotapalli Project. It’s surprising that Babu was laid foundation stone in 2003 and the same Babu is opening this Project today. Uttarandhra people are happy with this project. Handri-Neeva is next in Priority list of the irrigation projects to complete. It is the longest water canal Project in Rayalaseema region that serves irrigation to six lakh acres among Chittoor, Kurnool and Anantapur districts.
