Unable to clear the debt and also distressed by his son's prolonged illness, a Nizamabad-based farmer committed suicide by hanging from an electric pole on Wednesday in the heart of Hyderabad city. The latest incident is passing chill through the spine of TRS government.

Disturbing pictures of the 50 year-old Nerella Limbaiah's body is going viral on social media while his death reminds the stark fate of India's 200 million-odd farmers who have borrowed heavily to cultivate while the loss of even one crop is making all the difference between life and death.

With rains failing for most of the current monsoon season in Telangana, Limbaiah who had had taken Rs 6-7 lakh loan expecting bumper crops this season was depressed. Limbaiah's elder son Naresh, is reportedly an epilepsy patient who was admitted to  private hospital for whom Rs 2 lakh was spent on  medical treatment .

Since he couldn’t  pay the outstanding medical bills he reportedly visited the Katta Mysamma temple where he gave Rs 10,000 to a priest for a puja for his ailing son, and then he reportedly tried to jump infront of an RTC bus, but he was scolded by a traffic constable. He then reportedly found a rope somewhere and then was found hanging from an electric pole near a roadside transformer close to the temple.
