Congress MP from Vijayawada Lagadapati Rajagopal is well known for his over action. He tries to project himself as a national leader and a spokesman of the party. He makes statements on any issue – whether it is on the Telangana statehood issue or the CBI case against YSR Congress party Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.
Of late, Lagadapati is making every attempt to get into the good books of the Congress high command as the most loyal party worker. His recent “Praja Hita Yatra” to highlight the achievements of the Congress party and his attacks on Jaganmohan Reddy are all part of his gimmicks. He has even started targeting Jagan’s mother Y S Vijayalakshmi, who has hit the campaign trail in the wake of the arrest of the Kadapa MP. His statements that Jagan had threatened him and also film director Ram Gopal Varma hardly have any substance in them.
On Friday, Lagadapati launched a one-day deeksha in Visakhapatnam in protest against the attempts by mining tycoon Gali Janardhan Reddy to bribe the CBI special court judge Pattabhi Rama Rao to get bail. Projecting himself as a protector of the moral values, Lagadapati went on attacking Janardhan Reddy and even Jagan for trying to influence the judiciary with their sheer money power. His overaction in the media has drawn flak from everybody.
